PITCHED BATTLE WITH NEGROES.

Negroes attempted to force a merchant in a small village in Illinois to accept an irregular bill in payment of small purchases. The merchant refused and the negroes shut up the shop. The citizens'organised a posse and pursued the negroes. A pitcfted battle .followed, and two negroes .were shot dead.
