HOCKEY.

WANGANUI ASSOCIATION

Tho management committee of the Wahganu Hockey Association met on Tuesday evening, there being present Messrs. McDowell (chairman), Morgan, Marshall, Ellison, Scott, and the secretary. Delegate.—lt was decided to ask Mr. Dave Miller, of Wellington, to act as delegate on tho Ladies' Hockey Association. '

Jerseys.—The secretary was instructed to write to all players who have rep. jerseys, requesting their return at once.

Competitions.—lt was decided to commence the Thursday fixtures this week, and the Saturday and ladies' games next week. Hockey Matches.—lt was decided to hold the Junior five a-side tourney here on June 3rd; to send the A. senior reps., and the ladies' reps, to Hawera to play Taranaki. and the B. reps, to Matigaweka to play Main Trunk on June 3rd.

Playing Grounds.—The secretary was instructed to write to the police, asking them to keep the old College grounds free from persons playing any game on Sundays.

Fees.—The ground fees were fixed at £1 7s. Gd. for each team for the year, and the clubs allowed to use their own discretion in regard to collecting tne money, which must be in by July 31st. Defaulters.—The secretary was instructed to write to all other sports bodies in the town, ascertaining their views on a proposal to establish a Sports Protection Society, to get at defaulters to one sport who join another.
