Saturday next will be District Nurse Saturday. The following will give the public some idea of the amount of work that is being done by the nurse for the last nine months:—The number of visits paid during this period amounts to 2,371". Some of the bad cases ;are visited twdoe a day, and the nurse also gives out comforts, such as meat, fish, and, other suitable necessaries. With the growth of.the town and district, the. work is increasing,, which means more money will be required thai?, in^ the p^ast. The League is a puMo institution, in which all good citizens should feel themselves responsible in some'~w'ay for its upkeep.
