Tho subscription list of the above fund has now been closed, and tho. Mayoress has forwarded a cheque to Mrs. Godley for £20 3s. 6d. The committee would liko to have sent a very much larger cheque, but it has tx> he remembered that there-has been no canvassing, and all the contributions that have been given have been purely voluntary, and given most willingly, the cause appealing to all. The following are the amounts collected: —Per Mrs. Mackay £4 11s. 6d.. Mrs. Dove £2 4s. 6d. Mrs. Hughes £2, Mrs. Cop-eland Bs., 'Girls' College £1 10s., Mrs. C. V..Towoll £1 45., Mrs. Harper 15s. 6d., Mrs. Jas. Watt £1 75., Mrs,. Blair's Tea Rooms £2 Bs. 6d., Mrs. Hume £3 Tfe. 6d. Total £20 3s. 6d. To be forwarded later: Per Mrs. Allen 65., the Convent 5s. — 11s.
