WELLINGTON -December 17
Summary.—The ibarometer has been unsteady, but has fallen again to-day. Strong westerly winds have predominated, with*. changeable weather generally and some showers in parts. Forecast—Present indications are for strong 'and squally . -northerly "■and westerly winds and decreasing atmospheric pressure, but the barometer is due to rise after about 24 hours, when the winds aro likely to veer to the south for a short time. Unsettled and cloudy weather with rain is probable on the West Coast and in the South, and increasing cloudiness preceding rain in many parts elsewhere.
