GONVILLE SCHOOL CONCERT

The Gonville Town Hall was packed to the doors on Friday, evening, thero being not less than 600 or 700 present. on the occasion of the concert in aid of the Gonville school prize fund. A really excellent programme of about twenty items was rendered, the performers ono and all acquitting themselves most creditably. The singing was bright and tunoful, the recitations and -dialogues were well spoken and acted, the drills and marches neatly executed, tho little ones were daintily dressed, and the floral decorations on tho stage added greatly $o the effectiveness of the picture. Tho various characters in the dialogues were well cast, tho iboys fairly revelling in their parts, to the hearty appreciation of the audience. Particular mention must bo made of the cantata "Soot and the Fairies," in which seventy children took part. At the conclusion a hearty vote of thanks was accorded to the performers and Mr. G. H. Bowater for the manner in which they had trained tho children.
