SCHOOL ENTERTAINMENT AT FORDELL.

A most excellent programme was staged iin the Eordeil Hall on Friday, 13th inst., by the children of the Warrengate school. The concert -was in aid of the prize fund. There was a, very large audience to hear the young artists of the district in their own entertainment. This was the first .of the kind held here for many years and judging by the response and the spirit shown by the audience, it must he declared the very ibest .and most enjoyable evening spent for a. long time. Tlhe programme from first to last maintained «i very high standard of merit and never once was interest shown to relax. In fact there was not a weak ateni presentedl. The teachers, Mr R. Anderson and Miss Andrew, together with Mrs Anderson (whose special gift in this direction was manifested everywhere) are to be un- ] grudgingly congratulated on the mark^ ed success >of their efforts. Music^^^M thm, art, are the best words to^^^H oribe the work. It is to ;be hopec^^^H the children's schoolnight has co^^^H stay as ■ an- annual event. It iwoa^^H 'invidious to make '*^^^| the little performers; it is truth that in every case they acquitted selves with credit. Hold-up," proved a great favourite, and was well supported by dramtic productions of Edison and other popular companies. Mr. Price wishes it to be understood that though n^1 is providing an extra attraction with the augmented orchestra he is still only charging Is. for the circle and 6d. for downstairs.
