CHURCH BUILT IN A DAY.

AUCKLAND, Dec. 16
The attemint made by the Methodist people of the Papatoetoe district to build a whole church for themselves in one day was successful, for during the hours between dawn and darkness on Saturday ia fine- ilittle .building :was erected, mnd in a major sense completedl ready for the first service, which /was conducted by the Rev. W. Ready on Sunday morning. Work was started at diaylight and completed iby gaslight in the evening. The Papatoetoe people have some £70 for oil the work except plastering, and same of the iplumfbing was given free. As it is, the building will now cost sdfe £480. It iwill be used as &• hall on week d*ays, for the congregation wishes to swell itst fund to pay off the debt.
