MARTON, December 13. (Mr. W. Peed, son of Mr. Peed, of Te Kapua, haa 'been transferred from the Feilding branch of the Bank of N.S.W. to Kawa Kawa. Mr. F. Mason, of Palmerston North, will be judge at the Marton sweet pea show next January. Mr. J. Hannan's tender for the publican's booths has ibeen accepted by the Marton Jockey Club. The Postmaster-General has replied to Mr. Newman, M.P., that the Upper Tutatenui and Fern Flats rural mail delivery will ibe performed during the ensuing triennium by motor cycle, and that it is not anticipated' that any difficulty will occur in the delivery of post parcels. When necessary the parcels will 'be conveyed in a side car. The Mayor of Feilding was feeling very kindly towards cyclists on Thursday evening when he suggested that a 2-foot cycle track should fte constructed alongside the kerbing on Kimbolton road, other streets to follow. He ■pointed out that the laying of such a track would keep down the tweeds and would bo two or three times cheaper than the cost of continually weeding. The greater majority of Fedldingites were cyclists and should be catered for. Motions that the matter b© gone on with, that it be referred to a committee with power to act, and that discussion be held over until next meeting, were all lost. The Mayor expressed the hope that cyclists would remember this at next election.
