ELEVENTH ANNUAL GENERAL

MEETING.

The eleventh annual general meeting of the Wanganui Co-operative Building Society was held in Duigan's Booms, 75, Ridgway Street, on Wednesday evening. There was a fair attendance of memjbers. Mr. John Thorp presided. The minutes of the last annual meeting were read and confirmed. Annual Report and Balance Sheet. —The chairman moved the adoption of the report and balance-sheet as printed. Mr. .William {Brown seconded the motion. After a question by Mr. D. R. McLachlan as to the repayments had been answered satisfactorily, the motion was put and carried unanimously. Election of directors. —There being no other nominations, the retiring directors, Messrs. Wm. Brown, C W. Poynter, and J. Thorp were declared re-elected. Election of Auditor. —The retiring auditor, Mr. J. S, Morton, -was reelected unopposed. Ballot Appropriation. —A 'ballot /of £600 was then proceeded with. Messrs. J. Anderson and W. G. Herd -were appointed scrutineers, and Mrs. Wild kindly drew the marbles. The successful numbers proved to be 32 and 439, each owned iby a member holding more than one share in the society, who was declared to be entitled to a loan of £300 free of interest in accordance with the rules. . Vote of Thanks.—On the motion of Mr. D. R. McLachlan, seconded by Mr. J. Mandeno, a hearty vote of thanks was accorded to the directors and secretary for their services.
