A PROGRESSIVE DAIRY FACTORY.
Tho 20th annual report of tho Eltham Co-operative Dairy Factory Company, Ltd., shows a satisfactory statement of the year's transactions. During the year no le<ss than 45,061,5831b. of milk were received, which produced 1,671,250.901b of butter fat, and 1,942,----0921b or 867 tons Ocwt Oqu 121b of butter. The decrease in tho output of butter compared with the previous year was 8 tons 4 cwt Oqr 61b. The average test was 3.7 per cent; 23.201b of milk made ono pound of butter. The overrun of the butter over the test was 16.20 per cent. The total cost of manufacture, including charges f.o.b. ocean steamer, but not including depreciation, was £10 4s 5d per ton, or 1.09 d per lb. Tho average price paid to suppliers for butter fat was 11.56 d per pound, and tho balance in hand on realisation will make a further payment possible of ,77d per pound. Tho total payment for butter fat for tho season will be 12.33 d per pound.
Tho balance sheet shows a credit balance, on the year of £5413 13s 4d. Advances to suppliers for milk totalled £80.515 16s 9d.
