This is the message which Mme. Sarah Bernhardt, who arrived in London last night from Paris, gave to an "Express" representative who met her.
Mine. Bernhardt, who is as youthful as ever, is to appear at the- Coliseum for a six weeks' season. It is stated that the sum paid to her is £1000 a week for this soason, and that she has been offered even more to appear in America.
Sho had a civic reception at Folkestone, the first any actress has ever had, the Mayors of Folkestone and Grayesend welcoming her, and then she travelled up by motor oar to the Carlton Hotel, where, wjth her thirtythree trunks of new clothes and her suite and secretaries,, she was last night " resting." Sho was not, however, too tired to iceeivo many friends. "I r>m playing first my part as JLmcvtio.Q Borgia," she explained, "in which London has not seen me before. I have several olhei roles, favourites of mine, whi'.-h i hope will please new and o'd v-ieuls. " You ask me: ' How do I keep young P' " cried Mme. Bernhardt with a dramatic wave of a small hand.
