MARTIAL LAW IN AUGUSTA.
STRIKERS SHOT DOWN
Received 5-5 p.m., Sept. 29
NEW YORK/Sept. 28
At Augusta, Georgia, after serious rioting, wherein two were killed, martial law was proclaimed. A strike led to disorders and attacks on street and railway cars. Soldiers established a dead line, forbidding the strikers to cross in consequence of a report that the electric power workers were in danger of being dynamited. A number of strikers crossed, and tho soldiers riddled them with bullets. There is great excitement.
