LONDON, Fob. 11. Violet Charlesworth, who was sentenced on 21st February, 1910, to three year.';' imprisonment * for obtaining money by false preiienees, lias been liberated. . :

(Miss Violet Charlesworth made herself very notorious in England, where her tragic disappearance after a motor car accident three years ago created quite a sensation; as did her subsequent tracking down by the police. Following this came her bankruptcy, when some extraordinary disclosures were made in connection with her affairs. She. alleged that she. had great expectations from several gentlemen, including £150,000 from Alex. McDonald, who was last heard of in Melbourne. The Official Receiver, however, suggested that these gentlemen were mythical. The offence for which her mother and Mis.s Violet wqvo sentenced to five years' imprisonment was for defrauding Martha Smith out of the sum of £-100. and Dr. Edward Jones out of several larco sHins.
