I stand for close settlement; acquiring large estates; o.r.p. tenure, with freehold option to all Crown tenants, plus 1 per cent, at compound interest to holders of l.i.p. leases, Natlre Lands. —A sweeping reorganisation of Native Land Board affairs; all Native Land to be rated and individualised with an untransferable, inalienable Freehold Title, and a penal rate for Unimproved Land. Rating.—All Land to be rated on its Productive Value. Defensive. —Compulsory Military Training from 14 to 21 years. Private Schools.—l strongly support substantial State Assistance to Catholic and other Private Schools. Public Works Funds.—All Monies for Public Works should be allotted by Independent Commissioners, instead of by especial favour of the Government of the day. Licensing. —Fifty-five hundredths for Dominion and Local Option, and NoLicense should mean No Liquor. Old Age Pensions. —I heartily approve of the proposal to grant the Pension to Women at 60 years, and sincerely trust that the time is not far away when this age for qualification will become general. Totalisator and Gambling.—A Heavy reduction of the number of days for Racing is advocated; the curtailment to be entirely from those Clubs holding more than one day's racing In the year. I support the Referendum on the question of whether the Totalisator should be Retained or Abolished. Timber'lndustry.—I strongly favour Protecting the' Timber Industry. Bible In Schools. —The New South Wales system of Religious Instruction is favoured. Arbitration and Conciliation.—Until some better measure is evolved I support the present Arbitration and Conciliaton tAdt. Naval Expenditure.—l support Sir Joseph Ward's policy in this direction.
