Wellington defeated Marlborough at ■Rugby to-day by 21 to 17/ after a fast and exciting game. The visiting for-© yards put in good "work in the second spell with the wind behind them 3 and repeatedly had the local, side strictly on the defensive. There Was not a great deal between the two teams, though • the local backs iwere superior to the visitors. Cook (2), Perry, Walshe and Mitchinson scored tries for the visitors, McFarlane converting'three. Hegglun. Manning, Mogride, Hea'y, '■' and McDonald scored for Marlboroiigh. O'Brien converting one. The match was played at Blenheim.
