A few years ago Dr. Nyrop, a Daii-i.-:h University professor, wrote a wholevol'.ime about liissintj. Ho noted that, while even the stern Romans had threu words for a'kiss, according to the nature of tho salute—oscuia'. basia, and suavia—the sentimental British have cu3 term for every sort of kiss. Tho Germans have over 30 different styles . of kisses recognised by and entered in their dictionaries. As it is, most people can get along with kissing in tho .singular number, but levers may nott. Hie German . word "nach-kussem,"" which moans making up for kisses ■which have been missed through ab--rence.
