FOOTBALL.
TO-DAY'S CUP MATCHES
The seiiior-jcup matohes set down for decision this kfternoon on the Rec are Pirates v. Wanganui and Kaierau v. Eastern, Both games are to start at 3 o'clock, and doubtless they will attract a large;-,. number. of spectators. Chief- intere^fe centres in the PirateWanganui game, as these are the leading teams in the competition, and if both clubsxare represented by their full strength the finest game of the season should be witnessed. Victory for Pirates will make the cup practically a moral for them, but the red and blacks may be depended upon to make a big .fight of it, and a strong ■contest should be fought, out. Both these teams always play attractive football, rind hence great interest is taken in their meetings. The KaierauEastern match is expected to prove very even, and whichever side wins it will probably be by a narrow margin.
