BELL CROME COMPANY.
The Bell Crome Company commenced their two nights' season in the Opera House last evening. The combination is a company of artists, as the audience soon discovered. For two hours there was [not a dull moment, and the audiende fully appreciated every item rendered, for in every instance . the respective artists had to respond to encores; and in some instances the audience's demands were duplicated. Miss Belle J" Crome soon became a great favourite, and was applauded on every appearance. 'The audience was, not satisfied with Mr.. Will Hughes—that is, with the length of .time he was billed to occupy the boards, for instead of two; comic items, he had to give six-. Miss Ethel Richards, who is the possessor of a fine voice of great range and power, also delighted hec hearers and •had to respond to several encores. Perhaps the items which most charmed the audience were those rendered on the bells, which sounded very melodious. The selections on the Sleigh bells by Miss I Bell Crome and Harry Fane, were excellent. The latter also rendered a splendid xylophone duet and a mandoline duet. Mr. J. Llewellyn has a fine baritone voice, and was heard to advantage in his solos and his duet with Miss Richards. The humorous medley was very pleasing while the. juggling and balancing by the "Two Arnolds," apart altogether from the -listinctly clever nature of the .turn, wss uproariously funny, and, being the last item on the programme, everybody went away in good humour. The company promises a change of programme this evening, when there should be a large house.
