WANGANUI TROTTING CLUB.
ON THURSDAY AND FRIDAY
The Wanganui Course preesnts quite a sporting appearance in the early mornings now, the ranks of the gallopers being considerably- augmented by the crowd of trotters, and the track watchers are taking keen interest in the doing.? of both. The rules of the Trotting Association demand that there shall be at least one race each day for trotting horses onlyand the Club have put on one race the first day and two the second day, with the pleasing result that these three races are the best filled on the programme, so that those who delight in seeing a good clean gaited trotter plying over the turf should have their dearest wish gratified on Thursday and Friday next. The Club have received excellent acceptances, and good fields should face the starter in every event." There are only twp time limit races on tLe programme—the 'Cup the first day and the Tradesman's Handicap the second day for 5.40 gaited horses. The limit horse in the Cup is receiving 42 seconds from the scratch horse, whilst in the Presidents' Handicap, of 1 V 2 miles, the limit horse is receiving 45 seconds from the scratch horse.
