In reference to a report of a dead" fish having bean found and bc-l;eved to bo "Pelorus Jack," it is stated by the officers on. the Pa teen a, which arrived m Wellington tonight, that PelorusJack wjs ,«een on Saturday afternoon, sis usual ivhen the Pateena'was on the* passage from Nelson to Picton, and on Monday night the look-Out man on tho 1 atcsna saw Jack accompanying thevessel- trom twenty past nine till ten. J elorus Jjick i\as also seen by some passengers. This afternoon Jack was notseen by anyone, on the Pateena, but tins is not iuu\sv.al as he'has frcqixently been absent dxwiiig tho past few months.
