ACTING-PREMIER'S MOVEMENTS.

The Acting-Premier (Hon. J. Carroll) who has been on a visit to Parihaka since Saturday, arrived here about midday and received deputations on various loca-1 matters. During the afternoon he visited the petroleum works at Moturoa, saw a blowout in progress at No. 3 bore, oil flowing at No. 2, and drilling at No. 5. He also witnessed an exhibition of the rise in furnaces of oil and natural gas from the bore. Mr. Carroll seemed greatly impressed.
