SERIOUS ALLEGATIONS,
(Par Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH. September 4. Mr W. G. Riddell, S.M., sits.at the Magistrate's Court here to-morrow to inquire into the allegations made regarding the conduct of the Sydenhani Workingmen's Club.in connection with the Club's ■charter, to provide its members with alcoholic liquors. Tho allegations are: That it has been the practice of the Club, to allow cardplayiag for drinks; that the locker system has been flagrantly abused by the storing on Saturday nights of demijohns of liquor and by excessive drinking from these on Sundays; that drunkenness has been permitted on the premises ; and that liquor has been sold over the bar on Sundays. The inquiry is expected to last at least two days. '
