SHOCKING UNPREPAREDNESS TO FIGHT FIRE.

Tho "'Journal da Brussels" justifies tin complaints of correspondents that the firemen were unable to find the hydrants, and the hoses were too short. While the fire was spreading the lire men squabbled about/ tho leadership. Another great fault was in following instead of isolating the fire.

Five attendants, finding it impossible to stay the firo, attempted to save the ait furniture and tapestry. Excited soldiery and police rushed in, fixed bayonets, and forced them to leave the building.
