Replying to the Vancouver Board of Trade, who asked for a higher tariff' particularly on lumber, Sir W. ■ Laurie:1 said ho felt confident that the Minister of Finance would frame a inn-..!erate ,tariff, which might be in the nature of a compromise, but which would be f.iirly satisfactory-'to the whole community.
