Tho "Morning Pest" says the South African team controversy is somewhat unsavoury. Tho demand for a financial guarantee was quite unexpected. Expenses must have been calculated on a libaral scale when £5000 is required for three to four mont// trip. The refusal of a guarantee caused less surprise, but if V?. 3 .pk-asant. to hoar that one reason Avas the fear that when the money was safe the visiting taam might bo weakened by the withdrawal of prominent players.
