Mr. G N. Barnes, speaking at Glasgow, said he was not optimistic regarding ' tho Parliamentary. Conference. Every delay woakened ;the democraticforce opposed +^ the Lords. He would ho leady to pay handsomely to maintain the Crown, but tlw?re were tremendous abuses of the Civil list. Too many people were fattening upon the worldngmeii and hiding themselves in tho ■ shadow" of tha Throne. Trades unions would not ha satisfied until the Osborne'judgment /was reversed.
