Mr Asquith's letter has given an impulso to the movements to commemorato King Edward at Liverpool. Designs aro ibeing invited for a £25,000 memorial, including an equestrian
statue. ■Birmingham is to rebuild the children's hospital and erect a statue. Belfast. Bradford, Norfolk, Shropshire, Warwick, Windsor, Lancaster, Chichester, Hastings, and Salford propose the .extension, of hospitals. Aberdeen-..intends to erect a granite memorial. , ■ . . .
Ipswich is to build a sanatorium, costing £'20,000, whereof half has been subscribed. , .
