MAKIRIKIRI V. WESTMERE
A football match was played on Thursday afternoon at Westmere between teams representing Westmere and Makirikiri. After a fast game Westmere* proved victorious by 19 points to nil. Tries were obtained, by Tingey, Storey, Ross, Collier, and Bristol, Wilson converting two with beautiful kicks. For Makirikiri Callaghan and Hammond in the backs, and Leonard, Reid, and Caldwell in the forwards played splendidly. For Westmere, .th© whole team played well to a man, tba most conspicuous being Meuli, Wilson, Tingey, Ritchie, in the backs, while in tho forwards Cunningham, Storey, and Collier played great games.
The following have been picked to represent the Primary School juniors against Manawatu on tho 20th inst.: — Wing forward, G. Perrett; forwards, Lockett, Anderson, . Thomas, Seconi, Harrison, Rinnan, McLeod; half, Peake; five-eighths, Bryce and Delves; three-quarters, K. Svenson, Dustin, Coulson; full, Bowen. Emergencies:— Back. Lockett: forwards, Marshall and Lowes. Tho Castleeliff team won the Junior Shield for 1910. This team has never had its line crossed, and has scored 98 points to 3 during tho season.
