FARMERS' CONFERENCE.

The ninth annual Dominion Conference of the New Zealand Farmers' Union was resumed, to-day, Mr J. G. Wilson, of Bulls," presiding.

Tlio question of the free importation of agricultural implements in relation to their increased cost was discussed at the Farmers' Union Conference today Several speakers declared that the farming community paid 20 per cent, more for agricultural implements than when they were not on the free list. It was also asserted that if the Act were repealed farmers could get their implements at least 30 per cent, lower than to-day. On the other hand, it was stated there. would be danger of local manufacturers being crushed out if the Act were repealed.

A motion was eventually carried that the Agricultural Implements Importation and Sales Act be repealed. Mr W F.
