FIRES.

WAIROA, October 16. By a. fire on the Marine Parade this morning, .shops occupied' by Qeorge Fung (Assyrian dealer), a Chinese laundry, W. Horton (tailor), and Halcrom's wore 'destroyed. A considerable amount of stock was saved from Horton's and Halcrom's, bat along with the goods taken from places endangered they were damaged by rain, which fell shortly after. The fire started in the Assyrian's window. The insurances amount to £1375.
