CHRISTCHURCH. October 15
At the Magistrates Court at Kaiapoi this morning James Gallagher was charged with escaping from the lockup on October Bth. After evidence had been given accused, who was committed for trial, reserved his defence. Bail was fixed at £100.
John and Patrick Gallaher were then charged with aiding in the escape of the prisoner. After evidence was taken the charge was dismissed, as was a charge against the same persons of damaging the lock-up padlocks.
MASTERTON, October 15
Kate Neilson, boardinghouee keeper, was fined £35 for keeping liquor for sale to-day at the S.M. Court. A charge of selling liquor in a No-license district was dismissed.
