At the inquest on the body of Thomas Donovan, the young man who was killed in a Mffewe^ a]t Winder's ironmongery establishment, the coroner, in summing up, said it seemed ptpbablej "i the;,: "deceased had gone interttie- welt for'the purpose of using the lift -when at the same, time the lift wa£ ijx Ifl6)&dri,^and was caught by the balance weights. BURNED TO DEATH. NAPIER, October 16
An inquest was . tield: at :-West Clive to-day, touching' the death of Patrick . I<eys, wbolclassery aged, about 34 yeeirsV a natiye ! of; County" Limerick, Ireland. ' The" coroner returned a verdict that the deceased' met his deatl}. .through beinj^ accidentally burned in a'/ fire which destroyed a house at Riverside, occupied by his mother,' Bridget Keys, there_ being no evidence disclosing the origin of the fire. It appared from the evidence that the deceased and a brother had a section at Waimarama, and were on a visit to Clive, staying with their mother. Deceased had iwo or three drinks during the day, but was perfectly sober when he retired for the night.
