THE MISSING WARATAH.
STILL NO SIGN
i United Press Association—Copyright,
LONDON, October 15. The ship... Jeanne d'Arc, winch has arrived at . Durban i from Kergueleri, saw no signs of the Waratah. (iCerguelen is. well down in -the southern ocean, about midway between South Africa and Australia, and that part of the ocean sailed over by the Jeanne D'Arc in her yojage to Durban includes the legality in ■which the Waratah might be found if, as supposed by 'many, she has drifted southward. At the same time, it must be remembered that quit© a number of vessels running between South Africa and Durban have passed. over the same waters without seeing a trace of the missing steamer. Were the Waratah still afloat, the r probabilities are that at least one of the Australian-bound vessels must ha.ye sighted her. and taking everything'into •consideration, it is greatly to be feared that all hope for her safety must be abandoned).
