KETCHELL MAKES A PLUCKY FIGHT.
Received October 18, 7..5 a.m. SAN FRANCISCO, October 17. Ketcbell made a plucky fight and showed dcverne;s in stopping the champion's leads
Johnson floored him in the 6th round but Ketchell came up smiiing.
In the 7th round, Ketchell swung a terrible left and raised a big lump on t'ne champion's j:iw. It was the best blow" of the fight, and the crowd cheer<d.
The champion hsd the be:;t of the ir.xt three rounds and inflicted a lot of punishment.
In the 11th round, Ketciiell forced, but was unable to penetcatev Johnson's defence and >ve:;t to his corner with a badly battered face*.
In the 12th, Ketchell rushed at the •champion, who stumbled, but rose and sprang at Ketohell, end catching him off his guard, plant-da left on the body and two rights on bis head. Ketchell was floored and counted cut.
