DUNEDIN, October 15
The wife of Mr .Thurlow, a settler at Bock's township, Central Otago, was delivered of triplets, a girl on September 30th. and two boys on October 2nd. Dr. Bagley, who attended the case, says the occurrence is one in 8000 births, and it is rare to find all three children survive. All, howevr, are progressing favourably.
_ The retailers are moving in the direction, of observing the King's Birthday holiday on Monday, November Bth. DANNEVIRKE, October 15. A largely attended and representative meeting of farmers to-day decided to form an A. and P. Association for the Dannevirke district. The membership now numbers 327, and will be raised to 400 when the property lists are handed in. It is proposed to hold an autumn Show.
NEW PLYMOUTH, October 15. The Harbour Board decided to reduce the passenger tax by 15 per cent., if and" so long as shipping companies run three trips per week between here and Onehunga.
The Railway Department has agreed to purchase all the Taranaki Petroleum Company's crude oil. The present stock is 25,000 to 30,000 gallons, and is being steadily increased.
