MEN'S BRANCH
The Executive Council of the above meb at tho Drill Hall last night, Mr Hatrick (president) presiding.
Designs were submitted - from the various jewellers in town for the New Zealand Primary Schools Cadet Rifle Champion Belt, Team Shield, and Medals.
It was decided to leave the question of -final selection for these (as also all conditions governing the competitions for those handsome trophies generously given by the branch for competition by all Primary School Cadets throughout the Dominion) to a select :on committee composed of Lieut.-Col. John P. Watt, Captains MeNaught and Harper, Staff Sergfc.-Major Peacock, and Sergt -Major Anderson, who are to meet at the' Drill Hall on Monday evening next at 8 o'clock. •.
The Secretary was directd to communicate with the headquarters of all Primary Schools throughout tho Dominion regarding the comnetit:on, which it was suggested should take place on Dominion Day.
Tho Sccret-irv was further directed to send a circular letter to all public bodies, including County Councils and Road Boards throughout tho district with a view of fjccxiring th-c'r .co-opera-tion in the universal defence training movement and contributions 1o tho working funds of the Wang?.nui branch. All teachers of the Primary Schools in tho Wnnganui electorate diftrct areto bo. invited to m?et a full meeting of tho' Executive at its next me:t'ng in tho Drill Hall on the first Thursday in August to consider an important matter regarding a proposed publ'c demon-1 Rtrntion in the interests of the movewent.
