WANGANUI L AND D. SOCIETIES' UNION.
The selectors of the Union (Mr Walter Grey and Mr J. Brine) met last evening, and selected the following team to represent the Wanganui Union in their debate against the Marton Debating Society at Marton on Thursday, July 22nd. Mr C. Taylor (T,Y.M.1.) leader, Mr W. Lee Martin (T.Y.M.1.), Mr A. F. Hogg (C.C.C., and Mr S. Eernohan (C.C.C.). Marton take the affirmative side of the question—"That Australasia should create a Navy of her Own." The team chosen is a very strong combination, and should give a very good account of .itself, notwithstanding the fact that Marton is putting in a very strong team. Any persons wishing to accompany the team are asked to communicate with the secretary of the Union (Mr A. Dunkley) as soon as possible, as only a limited number can be taken.
