A CONSTABLE STABBED.

DUNEDIN, July 2
Constable Daubney, stationed at Woodhaugh, was stabbed both above and below the left ear to-night when arresting a man named 'Michael Coleman on a charge of drunkenness, and using obscene language. A temporal artery was severed, and the constable lost a quantity of blood before a doctor arrived. The constable's soil, Fred Daubney, arrived on the "scene as Iris father was staggering away, and seized aii| held Coleman till assistance --arrival.
