The wheat- markets are very firm, the continued Continental demand for near cargoes, rumours of a drought in the Argentine, and tbe increasing strength of America, all tending t:> improve confidence. Cargoes are strongly held, and 45s to 45s 6d is asked lor March-April shipments, and 45s for May-June. A few steamer parcels have been sold nffoat at 43s 9d to 44e, and a July shipment at 43s 9d. There is moderate demand for Australian spot at 46s 9d t» : 48s. There is good inquiry for New j Zealand short berry at 4os and 465, I long berry 46-s and 46s 6d | Flour is qufot, w.'th litt'e business. !
