THE WANGANUI COUNTYCOUNCIL.

(To the Editor.)

Is there no chance of history repeating itself, as in wet weather people are compelled to walk on the road, which is always in a shocking state. I wish particularly t> call attention to an ugly hole in the middle of the road, opposite Gordon's stables, which, /if not immediately attended to, will be the cause of a serious accident- r I am tempted to mention tho water table, but the least said of this the bettor. Many times have deputations waited on the members of the Council re the above matters/ and in almost every case have failed to wake them up out of their lethargy. Sir, presnminfr that the Wanganui County Council is now awake, I appeal to them ak a body to do their duty and have theso matters set right, so that they may bo/not only a credit to themselves polfectively and individually, but also to the community they at present mis-replKCTt-1 am ' E tER HOPEFTJL.
