William Reid, eighteen years of age, met his death in a strange manner last night. With some friends he was out on the Hauraki Gulf on a fishing excursion. On the return voyage he went to bed in tho cabin and appeared to bo in the be:t of health. When the launch arrived at the Thames Reid was found dead. . Medical assistance was summoned, but life was extinct. The doctor expressed the opinion that death was caused by the inhalation ,of benzine fumes. Another passenger passenger said he felt ill, believed to be from the same cause.
