AT HASTINGS.
HASTINGS, March 27. A fire last night started in the stables at tho rear of and adjoining a block of shops fronting Station Street. The back portions of the shops ignited, but the brigade succeeded in beating back the flames. The fire spread from shed to shed, and cleared a lot of old buildiiigs which were a menace to the town. The stable was owned by a syndicate, and war. insured for £400 in the Commercial Union. Fitzpatrick's billiard ca'oon (damngo £90 only) was insured for £403 in the London and Lancashire.
