The Supreme Court was occupied on Saturday hearing the case of Hohepa and others (Mr Hutchison) v. Broude and others (Mr Treadwell), The case was unfinished. We were in error in stating oh Saturday that plaintiff in the case of Koromatua v. Abbott and others was non-suited. As a matter of fact argument in that and the other two Maori cases which have been before the Court will be taken together, the three cases being similar.

Members who are interested in Rugby football will be pleased to learn that the Rugby Union laws have been so amended as to allow a junior team to be entered for the cup, without the" club having to play a senior team. Therefore a meeting will be held in Tuesday evening, commencing at 7.30 sharp, to discuss the formation of a junior Rugby team. At the Courthouse on Saturday afternoon an inquest was held concerning the death of the late Mr William Hodge, whoso body was found floating in the river on Friday last. The evidence went to show that the deceased, who had been employed as a carter by Turnbull and Co., went up to Kaiwhaike on the Saturday of the previous week to spend the week-end at Mr Caine's residence. He left early on the Saturday morning, before the household arose, and was not seen again^ his body being eventually found in the river.
