THAMES, March 26
A fire at Bourko and Scotcher's. general store <at Kerepehii, on the Piako lands, destroyed 'the building and stock to the value of £1500. There were no appliances "available, and thefire had a good Hold on. the store, arid soon reduced .the" place to cshes. ' The insurances are unknown. £1000 of Government money was in the safe, but was undamaged, though blackened with the heat. The money was to pay the Government drainage contracts. Tho origin is believed to be dua to rats.
