WELLINGTON,March 26. In Chambers to-day, before Mr Justico Cooper, Mr F. E. Baurae, K.C. (with him Mr Blair) applied for an order moving the case Qqck v. the Attor-ney-General and another (an endeavour; to upset the commission, with ~Judg<jK Sim as Commissioner, appointed by the '* Government to inquire into certain allegations of bribery ni connection with the Ohinemuri Licensing Committee of June, 1900) into the Court of Appeal for hearinof. The grounds advanced were that important and difficult'questions of law were involved and it was desirable that they should be decided by tho higher court. In granting the motion,-His Honour said he quite agreed with counsel as to the desirability of having all the judges present when the case came up. He would endeavour to expedite it 3 hearing. Counsel for the plaintiffs are instructed by Messrs Parr and Bloomfield (Auckland). Messrs Martin Chapman, X.C, and D. M. Findlay are retained for the defence.
