THE KING'S APPRECIATION.
WELLINGTON, March 26. I have received the following cablegram from the Secretary of State for the Colonies through His Excellency tho Governor: —
I am commanded by His Majesty the_ King to inform you that His Majesty is deeply gratified by the patriotic feeling displayed by New Zealand towards the Mother' Country in their splendid offer, and to convoy at onca his gratitude and high appreciation for fine patriotism and generosity shown in the magnificent offer made so promptly and spontaneously.
