NA'fIVE LAND SEIZURES
SOME IMPORTANT JUDGMENTS

AUCKLAND, March 26. The judgments of Justice Edwards in three important native land cases which were argued m banco in the Supreme Courb in February,' were received bys the Registrar to-day. The two most important cases have reference to the seizure by the Government of a piece of land in the Waiotapu- district, 20 miles from -Rotorim, and of 42 acres at Okere Falls, Rotorua, under the Public tYoi.kj Act. _ His Honour holds that the Government's act Ton 'in taking these lands was invalid. The Government, it might ho'explained, has built an electric power station for" the lighting of Rotorua upon the Okere Falls land. In tho third case, the contention that there is a right of appeal from the Native Land Court sitting as a compensation court is affirmed.
