MR D. BUICK.
Mr David Buick was born at Karori, Wellington in 1848, and purchased land at Palmerston North in 1885. He has been a prominent member of local bodies. Ho was a member of the Hutt Road Board at its inception, and was a lieutenant in the Pet-one Navals in 1883-4. Hejias acted -as chairman of tho Mana^yatu Road and Drainage Boards. In 1896 he contested the Palmerston North seat, but was defeated.
