KNIGHT Ol* THE THXSTX.S (10,789, vol. 22, 5.C.5.8.) is a powerful, shapely, and stoutly-bred brown horse, standing 17 hands high, and is seven years old. He was bred by Win. Agnew, Esq., BalSyherrie, Leswalt; Stranraer ,and was purchased recently by his present owner when on a visit to Scotland. Handsome Prince (Knight of the Thistle's sire) is by the world-renowned Prince of Wales (673, 5.C.5.8.) who was the greatest horse of the century. The dam of Handsome Prince is the celebrated Darnley (222, 5.C.5.8.) mare Pandora, and -.her breeding is unsurpass- . Ed, her sire being the best Clydesdale ever bred. Darnley's descendehts are renowned for their superiority all over the world, and the fact of two strains of this great horse's blood being on both sides of KNIGHT O7 THE THISTLE'S pedigree, combined with the Prince of Wales strain, must attract the favourable attention of breeders of high-class Clydesdales.
